- Launching fire and rhythm djembe head made with shaved black goat skin leather. Traditional african style djembes uses black shaved goat skin for djembe heads as the natural elasticity remains intact. In processing white djembe head quick lime is used which acts as a whiting agent but also compromises the natural elasticity. But in the traditional african style natural elasticity of leather is not compromised and gives a far superior sound and tone quality compared to the white djembe head.
