Description
The singing bowl is a vibrating bell that produces a rich and deep tone and is used for sound therapy and spiritual healing. Singing bowls profoundly affect and harmonize body and soul. Traditionally made of seven metals corresponding to the seven visible planets, the singing bowl promotes a deep sound massage and enhances the state of relaxation. Rubbing a singing bowl makes it sing and that is where the singing bowl got its name from. The science behind the process is one tone gets enhanced and all other tones disappear, creating a pure and penetrating ring. The bare wood striker of smaller diameter which comes along with your singing bowl, rubbing around the rim of the bowl will create the humming sound. Press the wooden stick firmly against the rim of the bowl to prevent a rattling sound. Think of it as riding a wave as you slowly drag and press the striker around the bowl in circles. Rubbing will gradually bring out the singing. Sometimes a light tap to start the sound, then commencing with rubbing will make it work more easily.
